Fish Creek is notorious for having the most beautiful changing leaves during fall, making it the perfect spot for fall family photos in Calgary. From red, orange, yellow and burgundy, it's simply spectacular. And isn't that what we want when having family photos taken in the fall? The array of fall colours are most prominent in mid-late September and fall until mid-October, so be mindful of this when booking fall family photos in Calgary. Even if the leaves have started falling, there are evergreens, bushes and creeks aplenty to create that gorgeous fall vibe.
There's a great variety of locations for fall photos within Fish Creek park
Fish Creek Park is the perfect spot in Calgary for fall photos because there are so many different entrances within the park that have their own unique personality. From evergreens and creeks, to open fields and beautiful trees, not to mention some beautiful cliffs, you can't go wrong getting fall photos taken at Fish Creek Park. My favourite entrances are Bebo Grove and Shannon Terrace. There's also Bow Valley Ranch, Votier's Flats and Glennfield. Within each location, there is a lot of variety as well. For full sessions, I love moving around and capturing a variety of images, so that's a big reason Fish Creek is a favourite of mine. Because there's so many locations to choose from within the park, you'll never find a spot that's "too busy" either. Sometimes it's just a matter of going another 5 minutes down the path.

With all the different entrances and vibes within Fish Creek Park, you might think it could be difficult to get around, but that is not true. Fish Creek Park has picture-perfect locations that are easily accessible for families, strollers, carts, wheelchairs, and more. Some of the most beautiful spots for photos are within 5-10 minutes walking distance from the parking lot. Who doesn't like easy?
